GREEN FRIDAY: How can we do right by the planet and you?

This weekend is a big one for a lot of companies and most of us know it as Black Friday Weekend - discounts and reductions are everywhere. 

Some more eco-conscious and sustainable company have created their own term for this Friday, to reclaim it and do some good: Green Friday. Lots of companies opt to donate to certain projects or charities with every order, so that if people do consume and buy, they are also giving back. 

Some companies that are eco-friendly do not participate in Black Friday or Green Friday activities and they have good reason: They do not want to support overconsumption and people buying without truly needing the items. 

At OBLIVIOUS? we spent a good amount of time contemplating what our stance would be this weekend and have come to the following conclusion:

• The idea of Green Friday really appeals to us, as we like how we can flip the script and do something good for the planet. In our case, we've chosen to work with earthly.com and support their Charlotte's Wood project. Part of every order between today 26th and Sunday the 28th will thus go towards planting a tree. 
• We do agree that we need to consume and buy more mindfully, however also consciously. Being a brand that truly aims to be more sustainable throughout, means that we do feel we can be a better option to buy, so we thought that we'd offer a small discount as well, in case you've been eyeing something up and want to buy a gift for someone from a small brand.
